 The information in this web site is based on a review of
nearly 300 research articles as well as interviews with patients, surgeons,
physiatrists and allied health professionals. A full report, Best Practices across the Continuum of Care for Joint
Replacements, was completed by the GTA Rehab Network in March 2005.
The GTA Rehab Network, The Arthritis Society, and the
Total Joint Network
have partnered to make this site an integrated, relevant, and evidence-based resource for patients and families. The Arthritis Society, one of Canada's leaders in patient education, has taken the lead on the writing, technology and adult education aspects of this project. The Total Joint Network is a leader in joint replacement best practices. It has been instrumental in ensuring that the information reflects of the existing model of care.
